How BettyGO earns: the affiliate disclosure
Short version: when you buy something through a link marked with an asterisk, the shop pays us a small commission. The price does not change for you. The long version is below, because you should know exactly how a guide you trust is paid for.
BettyGO takes part in the Amazon Associates programmes of the Amazon stores in the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil and Japan and in partner programmes run through the Awin network. Links marked with * are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we receive a commission from the shop; you pay the same price. Commissions never decide which products we show or what we say about them.
What an affiliate link is
A normal link to a shop with a small tag that tells the shop you came from BettyGO. If you buy something within a short time after clicking – at Amazon usually within 24 hours, or until the basket is paid for if you add the item within that time – the shop pays us a percentage of the price. The percentage depends on the shop and the product category and is typically between one and ten percent. You pay exactly what you would pay without the link.
Which programmes we take part in
- Amazon Associates in the USA (amazon.com), the United Kingdom (amazon.co.uk), Germany (amazon.de), France (amazon.fr), Spain (amazon.es), Italy (amazon.it), Brazil (amazon.com.br) and Japan (amazon.co.jp). As an Amazon Associate, BettyGO earns from qualifying purchases. Each language version of BettyGO links to the Amazon store of its country.
- Awin, a partner network through which specialist mobility and health shops run their programmes. Where a product links to such a shop, the footer and this page name the shop.
How you recognise them
Every affiliate link carries an asterisk (*), and every product box says 'Affiliate link' beneath the button. The footer of every page repeats the disclosure. Links in the text that lead to manufacturers' websites, to sources or to other pages of BettyGO are ordinary links without commission.
What it changes for us – and what it does not
Commissions pay for the research, the writing, the translations and the hosting of BettyGO. They do not decide what we recommend. The products on each page are chosen by the criteria named on that page – weight, brakes, seat, fold, looks, fit for the kind of day – and every product says plainly who it suits and who it does not. A rollator we would not recommend to a friend does not appear here, however well it would pay. Prices are not shown because they change daily; the shop page has the current price, and the shop's terms, delivery and returns apply.
What we never do
- Invent reviews, testimonials or star ratings.
- Accept payment for a placement or a recommendation.
- Hide affiliate links behind shortened or disguised addresses.
- Claim that a product is the cheapest, or that a price is current.
Prices and availability
Prices and availability change. What counts is the information in the shop at the time of purchase. We check our links regularly; if one leads to a page that no longer exists, please tell us through the contact form.
